When I read through the ingredients of Animal Scents ( see below ), the ones that stood out were mink oil, beeswax and lanolin. These made me think that it would be great on leather. Not only does it smell decent unlike the petroleum derived shoe and leather treatments, but it does a good job keeping leather supple. I have been trying it out on my 10 year old Red Wing boots. These shoes see a lot of snow and salt in the winter and this product is keeping them clean and soft.
Animal Scents Ingredients: Mink oil, lecithin, beeswax, lanolin, sesame seed oil, rosewood†, wheat germ oil, palmarosa†, geranium†, patchouli†, balsam fir† (Idaho), myrrh†, carrot seed oil, Melaleuca alternifoila†,
and rose hip seed oil. Young Living Therapeutic Grade™ essential oil.
Young Living provides the following information on using the product with animals…
Animal Scents™ Ointment is blended with Melaleuca alternifolia and myrrh, two of nature’s most powerful essential oils. It is a protective and soothing salve formulated for external use on animals. Typically used for minor skin irritations, cuts, and abrasions, the rich blend of ingredients is effective yet gentle and safe, so you can soothe your pets without using harmful chemicals or synthetic products.
But it also works well on people as well. It works to ease the dry skin found typically in winter due to low humidity and living indoors in heat. It eases the itch and helps heal cracks and splits in the skin too.
This is the very first post for the Oils Of Life blog. Welcome to all!
